| New Regulations down the line. |

no changes to the current engines will be allowed after this year's Chinese Grand Prix. These will be the engines used in 2007 and beyond
2008 will see the introduction of a 19,000 rpm rev limit
starting in 2009, regulations will promote fuel-efficiency, including energy recovery and re-use (i.e., regenerative braking systems)
down the road, the GPMA, the FIA and engine suppliers will work to define possible new rules that allow a performance advantage to be gained by means of more efficient use of energy. (Alternative powerplants are a possibility.)

| Nürburgring from a technical perspective |
|
| |
As a rhythmic, undulating track, each 5.148 kilometre lap of the 60 lap European Grand Prix will see the drivers negotiate eight left and eight right hand corners, a complete mix of slow, medium and high speed turns, joined by several straights. Following the extensive re-modeling, the Nürburgring invariably promotes some great overtaking, particularly in the stadium section and at the exit of the final chicane upon entering the first corner. Unpredictable weather conditions common to the mountainous Eifel region can also impact the outcome of the European Grand Prix.

Teams are going on with the testing of their new cars and strategies. With the new rules and regulations recently introduced for 2003, the drivers will have some tough decisions to make especially as they will have to start Sunday's race on the same amount of fuel left in the car after qualifying (the Sunday warmup should disappear).
We see Ferrari are doing strong with M. Schumacher getting even better records with the new F2003, while we see J-P. Montoya going really fast in his new Williams.

| November debut for 2003 Renault |
|
| |
Renault's 2003 Formula One™ challenger will make its track debut in Spain at the end of next month, the team have revealed.
According to technical director Mike Gascoyne, development work is on schedule and the new car, expected to be called the R203, will make its first track appearance at Valencia in Spain on November 26, the first day of Renault's winter test.
The gearbox for the new car has already been tested on the dyno, while the 2003 spec Renault engine is expected to be ready to run next week. Related electronic and software systems were tested by the team at Silverstone last month.
The first A-spec version of the 2003 car will be used for all testing until the end of February. A B-spec version featuring the latest aerodynamic revisions will then debut in Melbourne for the season opener, the Australian Grand Prix on March 3.
The team hope the new car will bring provide another major step forward following the significant advances made in 2002, the squad's first official season under Renault name.
In 2001, as Benetton, they finished seventh in the constructors' championship with ten points. This year, however, they have regularly been the 'best of the rest' behind Ferrari, Williams and McLaren.
With one round of the 2002 season remaining, Renault have scored 22 points and look almost certain to claim fourth place in the standings.
And though they have not quite made the podium, they have claimed top-six finishes in nine out of 16 races. Among those results, Jarno Trulli and Jenson Button have each taken two fourth places.
While Trulli will remain with the team for 2003, Button leaves to make way for current Renault test driver Fernando Alonso.
